His family attended the local church every time the doors were open, sometimes six, even seven days a week during special revival meetings and the like. Nevertheless, his family was extremely dysfunctional.

As he entered his teens he became disillusioned with the beliefs of his Pentecostal family. By this time he had been molested by a Christian, he had endured Christian family members and friends fighting over even the slightest interpretation of scripture, and most of all, he simply could not find peace with the constant guilt he was taught to feel when the slightest rule or denominational standard had been compromised. By age 12 he was lost to the things of God.
Rebellion ruled his heart until he was 23 years old. During those years he abused drugs and lived in search of other ways of living and thinking. After giving his heart to God he attended Bible school at "Christ for the Nations" in Dallas, Texas for two years and soon found himself working with the cream of evangelistic ministries. Dr. Hilton Sutton, Charles and Frances Hunter, Rodney Howard-Browne and TBN are some of the known ministries he served over a period of 20 years.
In 1999 he began writing “Stop the Church, I Want to Get Off.” Over 35 years of unexpected painful experiences related to Christianity were threatening to render him useless to his family, friends and to God’s purpose for his life. “Stop the Church” contains much of the healing revelation God provided him during these difficult years. "Stop the Church" was published in 2008, launching him into a unique ministry of reconciliation and reformation.
His ministry today is now centered on hurting Christians who need a breakthrough so that they can continue to “run the race.”
